Joan Laporta, elected FC Barcelona president in March 2026, plans to hold an extraordinary assembly of Compromisarios to discuss increasing the credit line to complete the Espai Barça project.

Current work on the Spotify Camp Nou focuses on completing the third tier, which will be opened in phases without specific dates. The plan is to finalize this tier by the end of the next season and begin installing the roof in June 2027. Consequently, the team will temporarily relocate for a few months to the Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc.

Beyond the arena itself, funding is also required for surrounding infrastructure and urban development. An agreement with Ohana Development, a UAE-based company, will be submitted for approval; they will build a luxury residential complex branded with Barça, expected to generate approximately €10 million for the club and replace ACNUR as the back-of-shirt sponsor for the first team.

The club operates under La Liga and international financial regulations that mandate balanced budgets and wage caps. Additional credit must be approved by members, consistent with transparency and collective governance principles.
