Barcelona is on the verge of officially unveiling German forward Karim Adeyemi, whose transfer cost the club €22 million. According to Spanish media reports, the presentation is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, with only the final administrative steps remaining before the announcement.
Adeyemi has been in Barcelona since last Wednesday and successfully passed his medical exams the following day. Although club president Joan Laporta suggested the unveiling might happen sooner, the administrative exchange of documents between Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund requires additional time.
The deal itself is fully agreed: Barcelona will pay €22 million upfront and another €7 million in performance-related bonuses. Borussia Dortmund secured a percentage of any future profit from a potential sale. Renowned agent Jorge Mendes played a significant role in reaching the agreement.
Despite waiting for the official announcement, Adeyemi continues to prepare through an individual fitness program combining gym work with personal training sessions at Barcelona’s Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. He aims to join the squad immediately after the presentation to participate in the preseason training camp in England, which head coach Hansi Flick considers a crucial stage.
Flick, who knows Adeyemi well from their time with the German national team, believes the forward complements Barcelona’s attack perfectly with his pace, dribbling ability, and willingness to exploit space.
