FC Barcelona held an important meeting on Wednesday evening with Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes amid preparations to officially present new signing Karim Adeyemi.

Present at the talks were the club’s sporting director Deco and adviser to president Joan Laporta, Alejandro Echevarria, according to journalist Carlos Monfort from the Catalan newspaper SPORT.

The main topics discussed included the transfer situations of midfielder Marc Casado and the definitive return of Portuguese defender Joao Cancelo to Barcelona after his loan spell last season from Saudi club Al Hilal.

Mendes also represents young Barcelona players Alejandro Balde and Hector Fort, but their futures currently require no urgent decisions.

Mendes is known for his close ties with Real Madrid, having facilitated the transfer of Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho back to the Spanish club earlier this summer.

These negotiations are strategically important for Barcelona’s squad planning and financial stability ahead of the upcoming season while fully respecting La Liga rules and the club's internal financial controls.
