Joan Laporta, upon arriving in the United States to support Barcelona players at the 2026 World Cup, took the opportunity to advance the club's commercial initiatives.
One key meeting was with Fanatics representatives — the American e-commerce and technology giant founded in 1995. Valued at 25 billion dollars, Laporta explored synergy opportunities to generate additional club revenues leveraging Barcelona’s global popularity.
Besides business contacts, the Barcelona president worked on strengthening institutional relationships. He met Rafael Louzán, president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, and Javier Tebas, head of LaLiga. On Friday, Laporta attended a dinner chaired by FIFA president Gianni Infantino, with attendees including presidents of PSG, Manchester City, Chelsea, various federation heads, NBA and NFL team owners, alongside influential companies like Coca-Cola, AMEX, Paypal, Netflix, Apollo, Youtube, and Red Bull.
These engagements demonstrate Barcelona’s strategic course to broaden its commercial base and enhance international influence through new partnerships and high-level diplomatic efforts.
