FC Barcelona has effectively decided to keep Juliano Belletti in charge of Barça Atlètic, with the formal signing expected in the coming days.
The Brazilian coach, who was part of Barça’s second Champions League title, expressed satisfaction with his work despite the team missing promotion to Primera RFEF and not qualifying for the playoffs due to a difficult season marked by numerous injuries.
Belletti highlights that players like Tommy Marqués and Xavi Espart were promoted to the first team and that many others were prepared to make the step up.
He has indicated that some changes will be necessary, especially in terms of better control over the team’s situation, including player transfers and addressing injury issues, which also affected the young squad’s morale.
Though rumors from Brazil occasionally link him with other coaching opportunities, both Belletti and Barça have agreed on continuing their partnership. The 2026/27 Barça Atlètic season will begin a week after the first team, with Belletti at the helm.
The squad will remain predominantly composed of very young players, including promotions from Juvenil A, with plans to reinforce through targeted signings like Joaquín Delgado, who has been performing well on loan from Oviedo and providing valuable experience to the group.
