Juliano Belletti has started his second season as head coach of Barça Atlètic. For at least the current week, several players who began preseason with the first team are not part of the reserve squad but might rejoin depending on Hansi Flick’s decisions.

The club has announced five new additions: 18-year-old defender Javi Castro, 18-year-old left back Josué Caicedo, midfielders Juan Ybarra (22) and Joni Hernández (18) from Tenerife, and 22-year-old forward Ignasi Quer. The loans of Patricio Pacífico (20) and Aziz Issah (20) have been extended.

At least seven players from Juvenil A, including all members of the 2007 generation—Max Bonfill, Àlex Campos, Hafiz Gariba, Onstein, Dani Ávila, Shane Kluivert, and Àlex González—are set to join Barça Atlètic. Hamza Abdelkarim is also expected to be promoted.

The squad sees several departures: eight players have left, including Kochen, Emilio Bernad, Astralaga, Cuenca, Ureña, Delgado, Barberá, and Dani Rodríguez. Some players such as Brian Fariñas, Xavi Espart, and Álvaro Cortés will train with the first team rather than return to the reserves.

Training will continue at Ciutat Esportiva until August 2, followed by a customary training camp and friendlies in Vall d’en Bas, with matches against UE Tona and Girona B scheduled first. For the 2027/28 season, Barça Atlètic moves to a new group in Primera Federación, competing against teams from La Rioja, Aragón, and Navarra instead of Balearic and Valencian clubs.

The academy leadership, alongside the coaching staff, continues to adjust the squad to support the first team’s needs under Hansi Flick, who currently has 16 youth players in his consideration, including goalkeepers and defenders from Juvenil A and Barça Atlètic. This integration highlights the club’s strategy of linking youth development closely with first-team planning.
