Barcelona goalkeeper Áron Yaakobishvili has become one of the most sought-after young players in the transfer market after making his senior debut for Hungary. In Hungary’s 2-1 win over Finland, he became the youngest goalkeeper ever to debut for Hungary’s senior national team, significantly raising his profile.
During the 2024/25 season, Yaakobishvili was on loan at FC Andorra and has returned to Barcelona with an enhanced reputation. His contract with Barcelona runs until 2028.
Before final decisions on his future, Hungary’s head coach Hansi Flick plans to closely monitor the goalkeeper during Barcelona’s pre-season preparations. However, with Joan Garcia firmly established as Barcelona’s first-choice goalkeeper and other goalkeeper roles uncertain, opportunities in the first team remain limited for Yaakobishvili.
Another loan is currently the most likely scenario. FC Andorra has expressed clear interest in bringing him back, but several other La Liga and foreign clubs have also entered the race. Both the club and the player prioritize regular senior-level playing time.
