Leo Messi's figure once again marks the presidential election campaign at FC Barcelona.
Victor Fon, leader of the 'Nosaltres' group, presented the 'Messi Project' expressing his wish to restore the bond with the greatest footballer in history. The main sports proposal is for Messi to retire as a player at Barça.
Fon stated that Messi should say goodbye to all the culés on the pitch, depending solely on Messi's will and situation after the World Cup and after finishing the MLS season, by the end of 2026.
Additionally, Fon wants to offer Messi the Honorary Presidency of the club, pending Assembly approval, so he can be the club’s great ambassador worldwide.
Lastly, 'Nosaltres' aim to link the Messi and Barça brands commercially to generate new income for the club, including a strategic agreement with Inter Miami and seeking commercial synergies to strengthen Barça’s position in the U.S. market, similar to Michael Jordan with Nike or Roger Federer with On.
