Barcelona’s first team is set to begin preparations for the 2027/28 season on July 13 at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper in Sant Joan Despi, starting with medical exams and fitness tests.
After approximately two weeks of training, Barcelona will play their first preseason friendly on July 24 against CE Europa behind closed doors at the club’s training facilities.
From July 27 to August 2, the team will hold a preseason training camp in England, based at the England national team’s St. George’s Park facilities. During this camp, they will face Birmingham City in a friendly match on July 31 at St Andrew’s Stadium.
A triangular tournament has been confirmed for August 8 in Udine, featuring Barcelona, Italian club Udinese, and English club Nottingham Forest. This expands the initial plan that only included a match against Udinese.
Additional preseason fixtures may still be added. Barcelona has received proposals to play friendlies in Rabat, Morocco and Nairobi, Kenya, although these games are not yet confirmed. Behind-closed-doors friendlies are also being considered during the England camp against Watford or Stoke City.
The preseason will conclude with the Joan Gamper Trophy on August 19. Negotiations continue to finalize the opponent, with Egyptian club Al Ahly being one of the candidates, but no official agreement has been reached.
