FC Barcelona continues efforts to strengthen its attack ahead of the 2027/28 season. Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon have already joined the squad, increasing competition up front.
Ferran Torres, the 26-year-old Barcelona forward, has recently been heavily linked to a move to French club Paris Saint-Germain. However, club president Joan Laporta, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo, said: "I’ve heard some of those reports, but we have nothing concrete. He’s a Barcelona player and one of the 14 Barça players involved in the World Cup."
Laporta also commented on Torres’ performances at the 2026 World Cup, highlighting his assist to Mikel Merino in the win against Portugal: "Ferran has also been performing very well. Every time he comes on, he creates danger. We have a lot of outstanding players at this tournament, which is another reason I’m here."
Given the current situation, the Torres transfer does not appear to be at an advanced negotiation stage, and no official confirmation should be expected soon. The matter concerning Julian Alvarez’s transfer is also ongoing, with Laporta promising further updates in due course.
