FC Barcelona has confirmed that goalkeeper Txell Font will not continue with Barcelona Femení after the 2025/26 season, with her contract ending on June 30. The 21-year-old made her first team debut in the final league match, keeping a clean sheet.

Font served primarily as the third-choice goalkeeper behind starter Cata Coll and her sister, Gemma Font, who played 12 league games, one Champions League match, and one Copa de la Reina fixture. While the club explored external options to increase competition for the goalkeeper position, financial constraints led to a preference for promoting players from the academy as backups.

Txell joined Barcelona's youth system in the 2016/17 season and was part of the first generation to reside at La Masia starting in 2021. Throughout the season, she was regularly involved with the first team’s training group, reflecting the coaching staff’s recognition of her development and potential future contributions.

Her departure comes amid other significant squad changes including the exits of Alexia Putellas, Mapi León, and Ona Batlle. The club aims to maintain strength in goalkeeping options while continuing to develop talent from within the academy to uphold Barcelona’s competitive standards at the top level.
