Joan Laporta celebrated his 64th birthday on Monday, just hours before officially starting his second consecutive term as president of FC Barcelona. He spent time with his close circle, and Enric Masip, Laporta’s trusted aide, shared on social media a photo of a customized birthday cake featuring Laporta and the Barcelona crest.
Laporta and his board resigned on February 9, and elections were held on March 15, where his candidacy won by majority vote. The new term officially starts on July 1.
Josep Cubells, the club's vice president, stated that “Laporta will set the guidelines for his new term. One term ends, but he will continue working to achieve successes at all levels that should make Barça members happy.”
