FC Barcelona is set to receive a payment of €2,893,533 from FIFA for releasing its players for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to FIFA’s updated Club Benefits Programme, the total sum has been divided into two parts: compensation for players called up during the qualification matches and payments for participation in the tournament’s final phase. Barcelona earned €153,375 solely from qualifying call-ups, with Brazilian winger Raphinha making a major contribution by being called up for 13 matches, generating €26,585 for the club before the finals even began.

For the World Cup finals, clubs are compensated with a fixed daily rate of €4,330 per player from the first day of the national team’s training camp until the day after their last match. Compared to the 2022 World Cup, Barcelona’s total compensation fell from €4.43 million to just under €2.9 million. This reduction stems from FIFA’s revised distribution approach, which spreads funds over more clubs globally but results in smaller shares for traditionally high-contributing teams.

Despite the decrease, this payout represents a considerable financial boost for Barcelona and underscores the club’s significant international presence, with 16 players involved in the tournament.
