After four successful years at FC Barcelona, where Robert Lewandowski won three La Liga titles, the Copa del Rey, and three Spanish Super Cups, the striker ended his chapter with the club and signed a two-year deal with MLS side Chicago Fire.
He said an emotional farewell to the Barca fans at the end of the season, explaining that he couldn’t envision himself playing for any other European club, which influenced his choice to continue his career outside Europe. Despite the challenges of moving to the United States, he and his family are excited about this new experience.
“I couldn’t imagine myself at a different club besides Barcelona, so we knew that the next step would be outside Europe,” Lewandowski told reporters. He described this transition as a significant life change but also a beautiful new chapter.
Currently, Lewandowski is set to bring his veteran experience to one of the leading teams in the Eastern Conference of MLS. His professionalism and skill are expected to be valuable assets for Chicago Fire in the coming seasons.
