Barcelona’s Juvenil B team closed the season by lifting the Catalonia Cup, overcoming Espanyol 4-1 in the final. The match featured an important late goal scored by 17-year-old Orian Goren from outside the area.
Orian joined the Juvenil B squad to support the team in the final alongside players such as Baba Kourouma, Nuhu Fofana, and Ajay Tavares. He has also competed in the Juvenil A under Pol Planas’s guidance. Although he has yet to debut for Barça Atlètic, his performances have drawn the club’s attention.
Goren is an Israeli youth international and is recognized for his technical finesse and elegant style of play. During the season, he primarily played as an interior midfielder, but also took on roles as a central midfielder and occasionally as a full-back due to team needs. His spatial understanding and talent have been well regarded, with comparisons made to Pedri. The coaching staff shares videos of the Canarian to help him improve specific aspects of his game.
His key strengths include intuitive movement and involvement in playmaking. However, there is room for improvement in reducing ball losses and increasing goal contributions. This season, he scored two goals in the league and two more in the UEFA Youth League.
The Juvenil A midfield features significant internal competition with players like Pedro Villar, Pedro Rodríguez, Dani Ávila, and Ebrima Tunkara. Several members of the team are expected to have opportunities with the first team, with Orian’s call-up to preseason training under Hansi Flick planned for early next month.
