Barcelona is in the market for a new striker, with Julián Álvarez as their top target. However, the move is not guaranteed as Atlético Madrid may refuse to sell to a direct rival.
According to Spanish media, the Catalans have alternatives ready should the Álvarez deal fall through. One potential option is Eli Junior Kroupi, who impressed in his debut Premier League season with AFC Bournemouth during the 2025-26 campaign.
Despite Barcelona's interest, PSG and Tottenham Hotspur are also pursuing Kroupi and are reportedly prepared to offer €100 million for the player. This figure represents a minimum release price set by Bournemouth.
Currently, Barcelona has reservations about committing such a significant sum for a player with only one top-flight season. However, if the Álvarez transfer collapses, the club might reconsider and invest the funds into Kroupi instead, while Álvarez remains their preferred target, valued at around €130 million.
