According to RAC1, FC Barcelona has already spent more than the €960 million initially stated as the cost of the Spotify Camp Nou renovation carried out by contractor Limak.
The final cost is expected to be about €200–300 million higher than planned. To cover the overrun the club will use part of the contingency funds and part of the €1.5 billion loan from Goldman Sachs.
The men's first team has been playing home matches at the stadium since late November and returned to a normal schedule, but at half capacity — not all stands are open. The third tier, VIP boxes and the roof are still unfinished.
A new inspection is scheduled for Thursday as part of phase 1C. If it is approved, the club could host matches with a capacity of around 62,000 spectators; 17,000 of those seats correspond to the first and second tiers of the Gol Nord, which remain closed.
The return of the Grada d'Animació is progressing after talks between the club and four supporter groups (Penya Almogàvers, PB Nostra Ensenya, Fron 532 and PB Barça Supporters). The opening of the section in Gol Sud (1,247 seats) does not depend on phase 1C approval but on permits from Barcelona City Council and the Mossos d'Esquadra — a complex process that is not yet complete.
The club is optimistic about the possibility of increasing capacity for this weekend's match against Levante on Sunday (16:15), corresponding to the 25th round of LaLiga EA Sports.
