Atlético Madrid has reportedly given Julian Alvarez two paths for his immediate future amid his expressed desire to leave the club during the World Cup. Spanish media indicate that Atlético will not entertain selling the Argentine star within La Liga, effectively ruling out a move to Barcelona this summer.
The first option is for Alvarez to remain at Atlético Madrid, honoring his contract that runs until 2030. The second is a transfer to a club in either England or France. Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have previously shown interest in the forward.
Despite Alvarez’s openness about wanting to leave, Atlético maintains a firm stance against selling him to a domestic rival. Barcelona reportedly still hope for some gesture from Alvarez that might help facilitate a transfer, but as things stand, his arrival at Camp Nou in the near future appears unlikely.
This approach limits Barcelona's hopes to strengthen their squad with Alvarez during this summer transfer window, as Atlético prohibits any intra-League deal for the player.
