FC Barcelona’s women’s team has officially extended forward Celia Segura’s contract until 2029. The 19-year-old, who previously played for Barça B, will spend the 2026/27 season on loan at Atlético Madrid to secure more playing time in the Primera División.
Last season, Segura scored 10 goals in 23 appearances with Barça B. She also became European U-19 champion with Spain, highlighting her international potential.
After joining Atlético, Celia said: "I am very excited and full of enthusiasm. This is my first time away from home, and it is an important challenge that I am facing with great eagerness. I will give everything for this club and leave my heart on the pitch."
Barcelona’s decision to renew her contract while loaning her to a top-flight team reflects the club’s strategy of developing promising talents by providing them competitive minutes in strong La Liga sides. This opportunity will help Segura gain experience and strengthen her future role in Barça’s first team.
