Paris Saint-Germain has stepped up their efforts to sign Barcelona forward Ferran Torres following their failure to secure Yan Diomande, who joined Real Madrid.
Reportedly, the French champions have identified Ferran and Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche as their key attacking targets for the summer transfer window. PSG have already reached an agreement with Akliouche and are now focusing on securing Ferran’s consent before officially approaching Barcelona.
Head coach Luis Enrique views Ferran as a potential leader of the PSG attack. The player is reportedly open to considering a move away from Spotify Camp Nou, seeking a new challenge after several seasons with Barcelona.
Barcelona would prefer to keep the Spanish international, but contract renewal talks are not expected until September. Any improved contract offered by Barcelona would likely be less financially attractive than PSG’s proposal.
PSG is ready to offer Ferran a four-year contract with a significant salary increase, adding pressure on the player’s decision. The presence of Luis Enrique as coach and his long-term future at PSG is also seen as a key factor in persuading Ferran and his representatives that a move to Paris would be the right step.
Should the deal go through, PSG would consider their attacking rebuild complete, especially as Randal Kolo Muani is expected to join Juventus and Bradley Barcola to likely move to Liverpool.
