Robert Lewandowski is in the final year of his contract with Barcelona, and his future remains one of the hottest topics at the club.

Polish journalist Janusz Michallik revealed that Chicago Fire coach Gregg Berhalter tried to recruit the striker to MLS but faced a negative response. According to Michallik, the likelihood of Lewandowski staying in Barcelona is high.

The striker himself is reportedly willing to stay for at least one more season, despite interest from leagues such as Serie A and Saudi Arabia. The final decision depends on economic and sporting terms to be agreed upon with coach Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco.

While other leagues remain a possibility, none can match the competitive level of La Liga. Thus, Lewandowski’s continuation at Barcelona looks more likely than many expected.
