Dani Olmo has become a regular starter for Hansi Flick's Barcelona, partly due to his improved fitness and Pedri's injury.

In recent weeks, he has played as an interior midfielder and occasionally as an attacking midfielder, showing versatility to help Barcelona through a difficult period.

However, like the rest of the team, he did not perform well against Atlético Madrid or Girona, being part of the losing lineup in both matches.

In a recent interview with RAC1, Olmo reflected on various football topics, emphasizing that much needs to change for them to win the UEFA Champions League: 'The Champions League will be complicated. We have to change a lot if we want to compete to win it.'

He added that 'we are Barça and we have to compete for everything,' and lamented missed chances against Girona: 'If we had scored the chances we had, we would have won.'

Olmo stressed that Barcelona must improve on all fronts again, and when asked about the way forward, he said the team's style will not change despite setbacks.

Regarding a possible comeback in the Copa del Rey against Atlético Madrid, he admitted he hasn’t stopped dreaming: 'We return to our people and have to find ourselves again with victory.'

On the path forward in the Champions League, when asked if he preferred facing PSG or Newcastle United next, Olmo said he will face a great opponent whoever it is, highlighting how special this year is after last season’s near final.

On his personal fitness and form, Olmo expressed comfort and satisfaction, rejecting the label of being a 'fragile' player.

Finally, he praised teammates: calling Pedri one of the best in the world in his position, captain Ronald Araujo very brave, and goalkeeper Joan Garcia amazing and crucial on several occasions.
