FC Barcelona commenced the second phase of its 2026/27 preseason at Saint George’s Park in England. Head coach Hansi Flick opted for a traditional, intensive one-week training camp to allow players to recover physically ahead of a demanding season.
The squad includes all available first-team players as well as select members from the youth and B teams, such as Brian Fariñas, Álex González, and the Fernández cousins, familiar to the coach. Players who participated until the last day of the World Cup for Spain, France, and England are absent but expected to join later. Present players include Szczesny, Gerard Martín, Christensen, Araujo, Casadó, Bernal, Héctor Fort, and Roony. Balde is sidelined due to pubalgia.
The club’s board is not represented during the early days of the training camp. Rafa Yuste was initially expected to attend but will now not travel. The sporting commission is represented by Bojan Krkic and Alejandro Echevarría at Saint George’s Park. Tomorrow’s board meeting may set the date for an extraordinary members’ assembly to approve a loan extension linked to the Espai Barça project. This is the main reason for President Joan Laporta’s delayed travel.
In favorable temperatures ranging between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius, the club focuses on physical and tactical preparation alongside crucial financial decisions on the horizon.
