Earlier this week, UEFA declined the dossier submitted by Real Madrid requesting that Barcelona be stripped of titles earned during the period when payments were made to former Technical Committee of Referees vice-president Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira.

Real Madrid has pursued action against Barcelona since reports emerged three years ago about the club's relations with Negreira. The effort has been led by re-elected president Florentino Pérez, who sent the dossier to UEFA shortly after his election victory.

According to Sport, UEFA considers the dossier valid but cannot take any measures until the Spanish authorities finalize their investigation. The Spanish Prosecutor’s Office has been investigating Barcelona for over a year. Some initial charges have been dismissed, but allegations concerning sporting corruption tied to payments to Negreira remain under review.

Barcelona has consistently denied wrongdoing, stating that payments were made to receive referee reports, a claim yet to be confirmed by the Prosecutor’s Office. Meanwhile, Barcelona has initiated legal action against Florentino Pérez due to his public statements about the Negreira case, which have been unwelcome at Spotify Camp Nou.
