FC Barcelona has turned down a formal proposal from an Austrian First Division club to acquire David Oduro, the Ghanaian left-back who has played for Barça Atlètic over the last two seasons.

According to SPORT, the offer included a modest financial compensation and a percentage of any future sale. However, Barcelona prefers to retain Oduro, as he currently is the only available left-back in Barça Atlètic following the departure of Jofre.

Oduro’s contract with Barcelona runs until 2027, and the club plans to decide on their next steps regarding the player after the current season concludes.

Oduro’s market value has recently increased following his official debut for the Ghana national team in a friendly match against Mexico, where his compatriot Aziz Issah also played.

Aziz Issah, a winger who usually plays on the right flank, has become a regular starter for Barça Atlètic in the closing phase of the season, contributing goals and assists. He is on loan until June 30 and reportedly will not extend his stay or execute a buy option, having offers elsewhere in Europe.

Barcelona’s decision to keep Oduro is part of the preparation to rebuild Barça Atlètic for the 2026/27 season, where only about four or five players from the current squad are expected to remain.
