Patricio Pacifico, defender for Barça Atlètic, suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) expected to keep him sidelined for 12 months.
Pacifico joined Barcelona on loan from Defensor during the winter transfer window but managed only seven appearances before his injury. The original loan agreement included a clause for a permanent transfer after 10 appearances, which Pacifico did not reach.
Despite this, Barcelona intends to retain Pacifico and is negotiating with his parent club to extend his loan with a new clause that would make the move permanent if he plays three more matches for the club.
His recovery timeline projects a return by the end of the 2026/27 season. The club is committed to supporting his rehabilitation and anticipates his eventual comeback to full fitness.
