Barcelona continues its team planning despite the club's presidential elections.

Both sporting director Deco and head coach Hansi Flick have already agreed on the positions to reinforce for the next season, with the central forward signing being one of the most important.

The club knows the striker market will be challenging due to the scarcity of quality players and high prices. Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid is the dream candidate, but his signing looks very complicated because of his price and Atletico's reluctance to sell.

Therefore, alternatives exist, and one of them is Manchester City's Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, who is believed to fit perfectly into Hansi Flick's system.

Barcelona is ready to invest financially but not willing to overpay, which could happen with Alvarez. Atletico has repeatedly stated they will not sell him, but reports suggest they might consider a multi-million offer approaching 150 million euros.

Barcelona followed Marmoush closely during his time at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he was one of the Bundesliga's top scorers.

He was an option if Lewandowski left, but the Egyptian player ended up joining Manchester City in January 2025 for 75 million euros. Pep Guardiola saw in him a player suited for an attacking style with good movement on and off the ball.

Marmoush is struggling to secure a regular starting spot due to Haaland's dominance at City and is considering a move to gain more visibility and playing time.

Barcelona sees him as a forward with mobility, technique, associative play, and goal-scoring ability matching the profile they need.

If Lewandowski departs, Barcelona is prepared to consider Marmoush as an affordable option to strengthen their attack. Currently, the club is fully informed about his situation and may act if the player requests a transfer starting next summer.
