Barcelona has realigned its summer transfer priorities, concentrating mainly on strengthening the attacking line.
Earlier, Barcelona considered bolstering the central defense and internally discussed several potential candidates. However, the club’s mindset shifted following the development of defender Gerard Martin, whose tactical discipline and adaptability to Barcelona’s high defensive line impressed the coach.
Interest in defenders like Alessandro Bastoni and Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven has cooled. While van de Ven’s pace and physicality are appreciated, his technical profile does not fit Barcelona’s playing style.
Consequently, Barcelona is prepared to continue with its present defensive options without adding depth unless circumstances change as the summer window closes.
