Raphinha, the FC Barcelona and Brazil international, remains sidelined due to a muscle injury at the back of his right thigh sustained during Brazil’s second group game against Haiti at the FIFA World Cup.
Initially, there was hope that he could return in time for Brazil’s Round of 16 match against Norway. However, it has now been confirmed that he will miss this fixture as he is still unable to train at the same intensity as his teammates.
The Barcelona medical staff is maintaining close communication with Brazil’s medical team to monitor Raphinha’s recovery process. Although he will not feature in the upcoming match, there remains a possibility for him to rejoin the squad later in the tournament should Brazil advance to the quarter-finals.
Raphinha’s ongoing muscle issues have also affected his 2026/27 season at club level, where he missed a significant amount of playing time. The club's medical team is focused on ensuring his complete recovery to prevent further complications.
No official timelines for his return have been announced yet; both club and national team continue to oversee his rehabilitation.
