At the 2026 World Cup held across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, three Barcelona players have already sustained injuries.

Ronald Araújo was the first to stop participating. He returned to Barcelona before the tournament started to address muscle discomfort in his calf and has not yet played a minute for Uruguay. His availability for upcoming matches remains unclear. Argentina's coach Marcelo Bielsa admitted responsibility for Araújo's situation.

Midfielder Frenkie de Jong is experiencing discomfort below the abdominal area. He was injured during the opening match between the Netherlands and Japan on June 14, in which he played the full 90 minutes. His status for the next game is doubtful, according to coach Ronald Koeman.

The latest affected player is Raphinha, who left the field in the 40th minute of Brazil's match against Haiti due to muscle discomfort in the back of his right leg. The exact extent of his injury will be known after medical evaluations.

Additionally, Lamine Yamal, who previously had a thigh muscle issue at the end of La Liga, stated he is not ready to play a full match for his national team. The club hopes no further injuries will affect its 16 players at the World Cup.
