Barcelona could soon welcome back one of their most influential players: midfielder Pedri is closing in on a return after a recent injury setback.
According to Javier Miguel in AS, the plan is for Pedri to receive medical clearance on Sunday, provided there are no last‑minute problems. If everything goes as expected, he could feature for a few minutes against Levante, marking his return to competitive action after weeks on the sidelines.
Pedri picked up the injury during Barcelona’s 4‑2 Champions League victory away at Slavia Prague. The initial diagnosis suggested he would be out for roughly a month, which forced him to miss matches against Real Oviedo, Copenhagen, Elche, Albacete, Mallorca and Atlético Madrid.
His recovery has progressed faster than expected: earlier this month he was already back on the training pitch, working with the ball. Raphinha has returned to the squad, while Marcus Rashford, Gavi and Andreas Christensen are currently unavailable, limiting the manager’s options. In that context, even a short appearance from Pedri against Levante would be a significant boost.
