Pau Cubarsi stated that Barcelona has not given up hope of making an incredible comeback against Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-finals.
After a heavy 4-0 defeat in the first leg, the Catalans face a huge challenge in the second match. Cubarsi says the players still believe they can cause a major upset.
"We’re a group that has already proven we believe in comebacks and we’ve done them. We’re going to try again with all our strength and the support of our fans who never let us down!" he told Mundo Deportivo.
Cubarsi admitted that improvements are needed, especially after the loss to Girona, and the team must be self-critical. He emphasized faith in Hansi Flick’s style and noted that the manager’s philosophy, though it may seem risky from the outside, has worked well for them last season.
He also added that the team must be fully involved in important matches, follow the manager’s game plan, and strive for success.
The winner of the tie between Barcelona and Atletico will face the winner of the Real Sociedad vs Athletic Club matchup in the final. Real Sociedad currently leads 1-0 after the first leg.
