Barcelona forward Raphinha, 29, sustained a muscle injury to the posterior region of his right thigh during the Group C match at the 2026 World Cup between Brazil and Haiti.
This marks the fifth such injury for Raphinha in the 2025/26 season involving his right thigh muscles. He left the field due to muscle issues, with official details about the injury's severity and expected recovery time yet to be provided.
So far this season, Raphinha has missed 19 matches for Barcelona due to four prior injuries in the same area. The first occurred at the end of September—an injury to the right biceps femoris muscle causing a two-month absence from September 26 to November 22, resulting in nine missed games.
In January, he suffered a blow to the same thigh forcing him out for one week and one match. In February, he experienced an overload in the right adductor muscle, sidelining him for 13 days and three matches. Later in March, Raphinha sustained another biceps femoris muscle injury, missing 34 days and six matches, including Champions League playoff ties against Atlético Madrid.
The club is closely monitoring his condition, which partly explains the signing of Anthony Gordon to strengthen the position and provide cover during Raphinha's possible absences.
At this point, there is no confirmation on which Barcelona matches might be affected by this latest injury or the estimated timeframe for the player's return.
