FC Barcelona has confirmed that Juan Hernández has agreed a new contract with the club that runs until June 30, 2028. The deal includes an option for both parties to extend the agreement for an additional year.

The 18‑year‑old midfielder has made 20 appearances for Barça Atlètic this season, scoring four times and providing four assists. He has also been named in the first‑team matchday squad on two occasions during the 2025‑26 campaign, a sign of the club’s faith in his development.

The club statement notes that the Aragonese youngster will remain at Barcelona after finishing his youth career, though he has already been training with the reserves this season. In January he was formally promoted to Barça Atlètic, changing his squad number from 30 to 20, and he was able to make his debut that weekend. He was accompanied at the signing by Youth Football Director José Ramón Alexanco.

There had been speculation that PSG were interested in signing Hernández on a free transfer, but by committing his future to Barça the player is expected to end those rumours. Observers have also suggested that the departure of Dro Fernández could create more opportunities for Hernández to feature in and around the first team, making him a player to keep an eye on now.
