Barcelona have been handed a fresh setback ahead of their trip to Girona as Marcus Rashford looks set to miss Monday’s match while he continues to be troubled by a knee issue.
The forward did not feature in the midweek defeat to Atlético and, according to Mundo Deportivo, has still not returned to full training with Hansi Flick’s squad.
Barca had hoped Rashford would be available for the clash with Girona, but his absence from Saturday’s training session suggests he will likely sit out another game for the Catalans.
There is a positive note as Raphinha has returned to training after missing the last three matches and should be available for selection.
Flick will be looking for a response from his players in Girona following the disappointing result against Atlético Madrid in midweek.
Barcelona remain well placed in the title race in Spain, but they could be dropped from the top spot later today if Real Madrid defeat Real Sociedad at the Santiago Bernabéu.
