Marc-André ter Stegen is expected to travel to Amsterdam soon to finalize the administrative details of his loan move to AFC Ajax, following the resolution of bureaucratic and tax issues.
Although Barcelona and Ajax reached an agreement several days ago, the deal was delayed by formalities. Barcelona will continue paying the majority of ter Stegen’s salary during the loan, which means limited salary relief for the club.
This arrangement aims to provide ter Stegen with regular playing time during an important stage of his career. Ajax and manager Michel, who previously coached him at Girona, have long admired the goalkeeper’s leadership, composure, and ability to distribute the ball.
This will be ter Stegen’s second consecutive loan after spending the latter half of last season at Girona, where a serious injury disrupted his campaign. He has continued training normally with Barcelona and was involved in recent training sessions.
