Barcelona secured the deal to sign Karim Adeyemi earlier this month, bringing in the dynamic winger to strengthen the team’s pressing strategy.
Borussia Dortmund has confirmed the player's departure, though Barcelona has yet to make the move official. Adeyemi arrived in Barcelona last week for medical tests and has begun acclimating to the city.
According to reports from Spanish media, the announcement is expected on either Tuesday or Wednesday, following the return of club president Joan Laporta from the United States, where he watched the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina.
Adeyemi is expected to finalize his contract and give a statement right after the official announcement. He has already been training at the Ciutat Esportiva and is preparing to play under Hansi Flick in the upcoming season.
During his time at Dortmund, Adeyemi scored 36 goals and provided 25 assists, showcasing solid productivity that Barcelona hopes to benefit from.
His pace and pressing ability are considered key assets that fit well with Flick’s tactical plans for enhancing Barcelona’s forward line.
