Though Kounde remains an important player under Hansi Flick, Barcelona does not regard him as untouchable. After establishing himself as one of the world’s best right-backs last season, he has faced some inconsistency this campaign, affecting results.
However, his strong World Cup 2026 performances reminded Europe of his quality. France coach Didier Deschamps made him a mainstay, with Kounde playing almost all minutes, forming a solid defensive unit alongside William Saliba and Dayot Upamecano.
Bayern’s interest has so far been exploratory, gathering information but without further action. Kounde’s priority remains to continue his development at Barcelona under Hansi Flick.
