Despite mutual agreement between the clubs and player, the final 'yes' has been postponed. Ajax has expressed impatience, surprised by the delay, and warned that if fiscal issues are not resolved quickly between the player and Barcelona, the loan could collapse.
Ter Stegen plans to move to Amsterdam with full medical clearance from his last injury to the left hamstring suffered in January while on loan at Girona. That injury required surgery and sidelined him from the World Cup. He has been preparing for his medical check-up with Ajax and finalizing the loan agreement.
Ajax’s preseason started on July 1, and with the first official match scheduled for July 23 in the Conference League, the club is eager to have Ter Stegen available soon.
