Joan Laporta has spoken again about the offer Barcelona received from Paris Saint-Germain for Lamine Yamal.

The club president previously revealed that PSG tried to sign the teenager in 2024 with a bold bid, and now says some people thought they were crazy to refuse it.

"When PSG offered us €250 million for Lamine Yamal, and we rejected it, he was 17 years old; some people thought we were crazy," Laporta said, according to Jijantes.

One of Laporta's advisers, Jan Soler, also spoke about the offer today with Cadena Ser, saying: "We had a €250 million offer for Lamine. It was discussed among the agents. I came in when Lamine was about to renew his contract; we have nothing to hide."

Yamal had already made his debut for the club at that point and had long been tipped to become a future star.

He signed a contract with the club in 2023 with a buyout clause set at one billion euros and renewed his deal last year until 2031.

There have been whispers since that PSG could try again for Yamal, but he has said he wants to spend his entire career at Barca.

"Yes, hopefully yes [I can retire at Barcelona]," he said.

"In the end, I think I’m at the best club in the world, I enjoy every day very much, every training session. I’m in the best city in the world and hopefully I can stay here my whole life."
