After weeks of bureaucratic hurdles, the young British footballer Ajay Tavares has been authorized by his English club to travel and will arrive in Barcelona this Sunday.

He will undergo a medical examination on Monday and is expected to join training by mid-next week once he adapts.

It was previously reported that Tavares' move from Norwich City was nearly finalized, pending only administrative formalities, which have now been resolved. Born in 2009, his Portuguese passport has been key to allowing the transfer before he turns 18.

This season, he has regularly played for Norwich's under-18 team, competing even against older players. Tavares is regarded as one of the most promising talents of his generation in England.

He has featured in England's youth squads at various levels and recently debuted with the under-17 national team. His performances have attracted interest from Premier League clubs and foreign teams, but he will ultimately join the Catalan club.

During this winter transfer window, Barça’s reserve team has already signed two forwards, Hamza Abdelkarim and Joaquín Delgado, responding quickly to injuries and absences in the squad.

The signing of Tavares reaffirms Barça’s focus on young talents with potential. If there are no setbacks, he will complete the final step on Monday before starting his new chapter in blue and garnet.
