Barcelona manager Hansi Flick was pleased with his team's performance following a convincing 3-0 victory against Levante.
With growing pressure in the La Liga title race, the Catalans responded in the best possible way. After the match, Flick emphasized that the early goal set the tone for everything that followed.
"Scoring early was very important; we saw the confidence we had from the start. As the game progressed, we improved and deserved to win," he said.
Flick highlighted how the team became stronger as the match went on, noting the importance of patience and structure against a deep defensive block.
A key talking point was the inclusion of Marc Bernal in midfield. Flick explained the tactical reasoning: when playing against such a low block, midfielders need to support the second line. He described Bernal as a great player for the future if he stays healthy.
Joao Cancelo also drew attention with his active involvement in attacks. Flick praised him, saying, "He was fantastic, creating chances, and that's what I want to see. He can help us a lot."
The victory allowed Barcelona to regain the La Liga lead from Real Madrid, which Flick acknowledged as important but cautioned against overhyping. "It's important and positive. We took advantage of the opportunity after Saturday’s results. But there is still a long way to go. Today we gave the response we needed."
Regarding Lamine Yamal’s visible frustration after being substituted, Flick downplayed any drama, calling it a normal human reaction and emphasizing the importance of the team’s win and giving playing time to others like Roony Bardghji.
The manager also praised Bernal for providing structure and controlling the ball in the right areas, and goalkeeper Joan Garcia for being very helpful in defense.
