Former Barcelona player Dro Fernández played his first starting match at PSG just weeks after an unexpected transfer from Barcelona. He performed well against Metz and was satisfied with the important victory.
Dro stated that he came to PSG to keep progressing and is doing so: "Personally, I feel good and am improving little by little. I came here to play, get minutes, and gain rhythm. Today I am very happy with the team's victory," he commented.
The midfielder considered that at Barcelona his position was more than covered and despite getting playing time, he wouldn't be a key figure. Therefore, after learning about PSG's sporting project with Luis Enrique leading, he decided to leave.
Dro also said he wasn't mistaken choosing the French league: "Honestly, I expected a lower level. I am very surprised by the league. In every match, the opponents are strong and tough. I have to keep working to succeed," he added after the match.
PSG has many injured players in all positions, which made it easier for Dro to get his first starting role. Although Luis Enrique trusts him a lot, it will be difficult for him to secure a place in a PSG squad with top-level players already proven internationally.
