The FC Barcelona Foundation, together with online platform MatchWornShirt, the UEFA Foundation for Children, and the Itinerarium Foundation, will auction the shirts worn by players in the Champions League round of 16 second leg match against Newcastle.
These shirts feature a special font for names and numbers designed by Anna Vives, a young woman with Down syndrome. She began developing this unique typography in 2011 and fully digitized the alphabet the following year, enabling its use in digital and physical formats.
Since its introduction in 2013, the “Anna” font has been used by various teams worldwide, including Barcelona, River Plate, and the Colombian national team. The initiative coincides with World Down Syndrome Day on March 21 and aims to emphasize inclusion, teamwork, and recognition of people with intellectual disabilities.
The jerseys will be available exclusively on MatchWornShirt for bidding and each will be individually authenticated. This presents an opportunity for collectors and fans to own a memorable piece while supporting an important social message.
