FC Barcelona remains at the center of transfer rumors involving Atlético Madrid’s forward Julián Álvarez. The club’s stance is currently uncertain—Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that an offer has been submitted but specified a deadline for its validity.

According to Spanish media, Barcelona has made a bid to Atlético Madrid for the Argentine striker, but Atlético’s CEO Gil Marín has indicated the club does not intend to sell Álvarez this summer.

Laporta expressed respect for all opinions and confirmed that the offer stands. He also mentioned that Barcelona will likely announce the withdrawal of their bid by the end of July if no progress is achieved. Laporta said: "I respect everyone’s opinion. All I know is that we made an offer, the offer is there, and at a certain point we will announce that the offer has expired on our end. At the end of July? Probably, yes."

Álvarez himself, ahead of the World Cup final on Sunday, stated he believes that a transfer would be best for all parties, though his future remains unclear. With the championship final approaching, resolution on his career path might soon follow.

Barcelona continues to monitor and pursue options to strengthen their attack, but the negotiations currently remain in a state of uncertainty as the club awaits further developments.
