Francisco Trincão (26), a former Barcelona player, has officially signed with Al-Ahli, a Saudi Arabian club. He agreed to a four-year contract running through 2030 with the Asian Champions.

Previously, Trincão played for Sporting CP, who last summer bought 50% of his rights from Barcelona for about 11 million euros. The total amount Barcelona earned for Trincão, including previous transfer fees and loan payments from Wolverhampton and Sporting, sums up to around 27 million euros. Barcelona originally paid 31 million euros in 2021 to sign him from Sporting Braga.

Last season, Trincão was a key contributor to Sporting's Portuguese League title, finishing as the top assister of the competition.

Regarding his move to Saudi Arabia, Trincão said after his presentation: "I feel very proud to join Al-Ahli and I am aware of the club's value, history, and fans. The passion I saw from Al-Ahli’s supporters was one of the main reasons that encouraged me to accept this experience. I promise to fight alongside my teammates to achieve success and make the fans happy."

Al-Ahli aims to maintain its dominance in Asian football and pursue a third consecutive AFC Champions League title.
