Barcelona is on the verge of finalizing a permanent deal for 20-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Abdul Aziz Issah, currently featuring for Barca Atletic. Issah initially joined the Catalan club on loan from Dreams FC in 2024 and is set to make his move permanent.
Until the official announcement is made, Issah is not permitted to train with the team. Head coach Hansi Flick will decide whether Issah will train with the first team or continue developing with Barca Atletic. Flick is considering involving him in the upcoming preseason matches in England, though a permanent first-team role is not guaranteed yet.
Barcelona prefers to loan Issah to a club competing at a higher level than the fourth tier, where Barca Atletic currently plays. However, an additional season with the reserve side remains an option, allowing him chances to break into the senior squad.
This signing aligns with Barcelona's broader strategy of nurturing young talents and strengthening the team's depth, following recent acquisitions like winger Jesse Bisiwu from Club Brugge.
