Last week, FC Barcelona midfielder Gavi returned to group training after five months out due to knee surgery.

The 21-year-old homegrown star suffered a knee injury in late August and underwent arthroscopy in September after initial conservative treatment did not achieve the desired results.

Having worked hard on his recovery since then, the Spanish international finally resumed training with the rest of the group last week, marking a significant development for Barcelona.

However, the coaching staff are taking a cautious approach with his reintegration given the long time he spent sidelined. A similar careful strategy was used with Marc Bernal earlier this season after an ACL injury, to avoid setbacks or relapses.

It is expected that the same approach will be followed with Gavi, especially considering he had a serious knee injury in the past before his latest issue.

There is no hurry from the staff, and the midfielder is expected to receive full medical clearance in 2-3 weeks.

Nonetheless, the progress Gavi has shown since returning to group training has been positive and encouraging.
