Barcelona is pushing to sell midfielder Marc Casadó before June 30 to help balance their financial accounts for the season. Along with Ansu Fati’s departure, his exit should improve the club’s budget. However, Casadó himself is in no rush and seeks to carefully consider his options to find the right project.

Atlético Madrid showed initial interest in signing Casadó, with his agent Jorge Mendes entering talks with Atlético’s football director Mateu Alemany. For now, the club has rejected the option, citing sporting reasons and other market priorities. Atlético recently invested heavily in midfield, signing Rodrigo Mendoza and Obed, and currently have players like Nico González, Koke, and Barrios filling the midfield roles.

Currently, there’s no agreement to bring Casadó to Atlético, and the club is not including players for potential exchanges. Under these conditions, Casadó must wait and evaluate other proposals. Among alternatives, Real Betis has expressed interest, led by coach Manuel Pellegrini. However, Betis faces financial constraints, as Barcelona demands a minimum of €20 million for Casadó. Betis could only consider a partial purchase, contingent upon selling some of their own players.

Agent Mendes is also exploring other European options, including a potentially lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal. Yet, Casadó is hesitant about that project for sporting reasons. He wants a team that will fully commit to him and where a coach trusts his playing style.

As it stands, Casadó’s situation remains unresolved, with negotiations ongoing but no definitive outcome achieved so far.
