Áron Yaakobishvili, 20, made his first appearance for the Hungarian senior national team in a friendly match against Finland held at Budapest's Puskas Arena. Hungary secured a 2-1 win.
Yaakobishvili entered the game in the 62nd minute, replacing starting goalkeeper Péter Szappanos. Despite conceding a goal in the 88th minute, the goalkeeper impressed with several key saves highlighted by local media. In a post-match interview, he emphasized the importance of the whole team’s effort and expressed satisfaction in having contributed to the victory.
During the 2025/26 season, Yaakobishvili was on loan at Andorra and has now returned to Barcelona, where he remains under contract until 2028.
When asked about the possibility of becoming Barcelona’s first-choice goalkeeper in the future, he stated that he works hard every day and knows the steps needed to achieve that goal. While recognizing that some luck is involved, he focuses on making the most of every opportunity and giving his best consistently.
